Ok, this is something I get asked A LOT… so here’s a quick guide, no beating around the bush, with the most useful shortcuts I use (and that you should already know).
I swear that once you memorize them, they’ll change your life. Let’s get to the point:

🔹 Pressing Win+<a href="https://www.empresadeserviciosweb.com/post/como-borrar-una-pagina-en-word/" title="shift“>shift+S simultaneously

this is my favorite. You press those three keys at the same time and bam!
Your <a href="https://www.empresadeserviciosweb.com/post/alguna-vez-te-has-preguntado-como-hacer-videos-con-inteligencia-artificial-de-forma-gratuita/" title="screen“>screen dims a little and a cursor appears that lets you select exactly what you want to capture.

📋 The image is copied automatically to the clipboard. You just have to paste it (Ctrl+V) wherever you want: a chat, a document, Paint, whatever.

💡 Pro tip: This is part of the “Snipping and annotation” tool, but you don’t need to open it manually.

🔹 Press the key with the Windows logo + Shift + S

It’s the same as the previous one (yes, seriously).
It’s just that some people prefer I tell them the full name of the keys.
It works the same: you select an area, it gets copied, you paste it. Quick and without saving anything to your disk.

🔹 On the keyboard, press Command-Shift-4

If you have an Apple keyboard:

This one is odd.
It’s not for static captures, but rather (depending on the software you have installed) it can launch something like screen recording.

🎥 For example, if you have Xbox Game Bar, it might start recording what you’re doing. So if nothing shows up… you’re not crazy, it’s just not set up for that.

🔹 Quick screenshot of a selected area

This isn’t a specific shortcut, but rather a cool description of what Win + Shift + S does:

• You select an area.
• It captures only that part.
• You can paste it directly.

Perfect for when you don’t want to show the whole desktop or go around editing images afterward.

🔹 Press the Windows logo key + the PrtScr key

This one’s for when you want to save the entire screen as a file, without thinking too much:

Without opening anything, without pasting anything, without drama.

✅ Ideal if you want to save many screenshots quickly.

🔹 Windows + Alt + R

Image capture? No.
Video capture? Yes!

With this combo, if you have the Xbox game bar enabled, it starts a screen recording. It literally starts recording what you’re doing.

Perfect for tutorials, gameplays, or if you want to show someone step by step what you did.
