“Uncle, I’ve discovered how to make your articles show up on that Google thing that appears without searching… it’s blowing up!”
That’s how I started looking into this, and now I’ll explain it to you like the good gossipy Facebook friend I am 🤓📱I recommend you check out this article, it’s interesting: Qué es h en html y cómo afecta al seo.
📲 But wait… What on earth is Google Discover?
It’s that little tab that appears on your phone (in the Google app or when you swipe left), where news, articles, recipes, gossip… show up without you searching for anything.
🎯 If you manage to get your content in there = BOOM of visits without paying for advertising or being an influencer.
✅ How do you get to appear on Google Discover? Here are the steps, no jargon:
1. 🔥 Publish things that interest real people (yes, like you and me)
None of those flat articles like “what is WiFi.”
Think more like:
👉 “Why your internet is slow even though you pay for 300 MB”
👉 “This is what I did to double my speed without paying more”
💡 Personal stories + useful tips + curiosity = magic formula.
2. 🖼️ Use large, powerful images
Google Discover is very visual, almost like Instagram.
- At least 1200 px wide (yes, that’s big)
- No watermarks or blurry images
- Add this to your site so Google accepts it: htmlCopyEdit
<meta name="robots" content="max-image-preview:large">
📸 A good image can be the difference between appearing or going unnoticed.
3. 🧼 No cheap clickbait
Forget “You won’t believe what happened…” or “Do this and Google will give you money.”
Google doesn’t fall for it anymore.
➡️ Be clear but provocative. Example:
✅ “How I appeared on Google Discover without being famous or having thousands of followers”
4. 📱 Your site has to be fast on mobile, no question
Does it look good? Does it load fast? Are there no annoying pop-ups?
🔧 Use responsive design and check with this:

📈 Discover only shows up on mobile → if your site sucks on mobile, you’re out.
5. ⏰ Publish about current things or what everyone’s talking about
Google Discover loves what’s trending:
- Series premieres
- Problems with apps
- Useful tutorials at key moments (e.g., “How to improve WiFi in summer” 🥵📶)
🗞️ Use Google Trends to see what’s being searched most today.
6. 💬 Be yourself, talk like a human (like I’m doing now)
Even if your site is serious, Google values “real” content, with your own voice, experience, opinion.
😏 You can tell anecdotes, use emojis (yes, seriously!) and connect with people.
Content that “hooks” people has a better chance.
7. 🧩 Publish frequently and maintain quality
One viral article isn’t enough.
Publish good content consistently and Google will start to trust you.
📅 Think of this like planting seeds: one day one of your posts “explodes.”
🎯 IN SUMMARY (for those who scroll fast 😅):
✔️ Write useful, human, and current things
✔️ Use large images
✔️ Optimize your site for mobile
✔️ Avoid clickbait
✔️ Publish regularly
✔️ Be yourself, but in an interesting version
✔️ Add that max-image-preview:large tag
💥 And how do I know if I’m already on Discover?
- Go to Google Search Console
- In the menu, look for “Performance” → “Discover”
- If it shows up there = you’re in the VIP club 😎
