Plan de Marketing

🚨 What Happened to Me for Advertising on Facebook Without a Clue (I Almost Cried) 😂💸

Uncle… I don’t even know where to start. This is long, but if you’re thinking about throwing money into Facebook ads, READ IT to the end because it can save your wallet and a few headaches 😅

I recommend you check out this article, it’s interesting: Google Sandbox: What It Is and How It Affects Your New Domains in SEO.

A few months ago I said: “whoa, I’m going to launch my little online shop, get rich, throw 50€ at Facebook and off we go” 🚀💼

HAHAHA. No.

Here’s what happened:

Day 1 – The excitement

I grab my nice design, upload some top photos I’d taken with my phone (with the dog in the background and everything, very ‘natural’ 🙈), write something like “Don’t miss this offer!” and… boom! I hit that blue “Boost post” button.

I could already picture myself in Ibiza selling from my phone 🏝️📲

Day 2 – The void

3 clicks.
1 like (from my cousin).
0 sales.
48.72€ less in my account.

Friends, the reality check hurt 😮‍💨

Day 3 – The rage

I lost it. I went into the ads manager (that panel that looks like NASA), and I said: “What the hell am I doing wrong?”

Spoiler: EVERYTHING.

And that’s where my odyssey began. I watched 10 videos, read 50 posts, tried things… and I started to understand the game. Here’s what I learned the hard way:

🎯 If you don’t know what you want, Facebook knows even less

That whole “let’s see if someone buys” thing doesn’t work. NO!
You have to choose an objective as if your life depended on it: traffic, leads, conversions… they’re not the same. I chose “likes” and of course, my aunt liked it.

👉 Lesson: if you want sales, choose “conversions”, period.

🎯‍🕵️ Segment like you’re a hacker

At first I put: “Ages 18 to 65, all of Spain, all interests.”

I mean, Facebook didn’t know whether to show my ad to a 19-year-old gamer or a lady who grows aloe vera 🌱😂

Then I started doing weird segmentations. Like:
“People who follow design pages + have an iPhone + have visited online stores recently.”

And that’s when the magic started 🪄

🎬 The ad has to scream: HEY, YOU!

No plain text, no generic stock photo. People scroll past 200 ads a day. If yours doesn’t stand out in 1 second, goodbye 👋

One of my best ads was a homemade video shot vertically, with background music, my cat knocking over a box with the product, and me saying:
“If my cat doesn’t like it, I’ll return it. But spoiler: he loved it.”

🤣
That ad sold more than all the previous ones combined.

💰 Spend little, but wisely

Before, I was throwing 20€/day around like it was raining money.
Now I test with 5€/day, several different ads. The one that does well, I scale it. The one that doesn’t… I bury it.

👉 Sometimes the ad you least expect is the one that kills it. Don’t fall in love with your ideas. Fall in love with the data 💹

📉 Don’t stare at the numbers just to stare

The classic: you spend all day in the panel looking at clicks, impressions, CTR… and you don’t even know what you’re looking at.
I focus on only 3 things:

  • How many people click?
  • How many buy?
  • How much does each sale cost me?

The rest is noise. If something doesn’t sell, change it. Period.

🔥 Last lesson (the heaviest one)

Your ads don’t have to be perfect.
They have to be real.
They have to have soul.

Don’t sell like a company. Sell like you. Tell your story. Put a face on it, put emotion into it, put madness into it if you have to.

People buy from people. And if you show yourself authentically, you connect.

Current result:

🔹 Profitable campaigns.
🔹 Clients who message me privately to congratulate me.
🔹 Daily sales WITHOUT having to beg.
🔹 And above all… I don’t feel like a clown in front of the blue button 🤡

And if you’ve read this far… thank you, truly.
I swear that if it worked for me, it can work for you too.

Just don’t trust the “gurus”. Do it your way, but with your head on straight 🧠
