🔗💻 Did someone send you a weird link and you don’t know whether to open it or not? Read this, it could save you a nasty surprise…

Listen folks, this is for those who use their phone or PC all day long and sometimes get a link that smells fishy 🔥. Like:
👉 “Check out this video of you”
👉 “You won an iPhone, click here”
👉 “Confirm your account or it will be deleted”
Come on, if you haven’t fallen for one of those, you’re one of the few 😂. I got tricked once and I learned my lesson.
Here are a couple of things I do before opening a link that gives me a bad feeling:
💡 First: if it comes from a weird number, a sketchy email, or someone who never writes to you… be suspicious. Sometimes even a friend can be hacked and send it to you without meaning to.
🔍 Second: copy the link (without opening it) and paste it into a website that analyzes links. I use https://www.virustotal.com — you just paste the link and it tells you if it looks bad or not. No need to sign up or anything weird.
🕵️♂️ Third: if you still want to open it, do it from the browser’s incognito mode or even better, from an old phone or a computer you don’t use for important things (never open it where you have your banking, social media, etc.).
📵 And never enter your data there, even if the page looks nice. Not your email, not your password, not your number. There are pages that imitate the real ones and you don’t even notice.
I’ve fallen for a couple of these and because I didn’t think, I lost my Facebook once and almost lost access to my email another time 😓. So better safe than sorry.
