Plan de Marketing

I Analyzed 100 Viral Videos and This Is the Exact Moment They Were Uploaded

If you want a TikTok to go viral, the exact moment you post it can make the difference between the algorithm pushing it or ignoring it. There is no single magic hour, but there are clear patterns of when people are most willing to watch, comment, and share.

Here are the specific times that various studies point to as the most effective, depending on where your audience is.

Recommended times by day (Spain, mainland time)

These times are a good starting point if your audience is mainly in Spain:

  • Monday: 12:00 and 16:00
  • Tuesday: 4:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 15:00
  • Wednesday: 13:00 and 14:00
  • Thursday: 5:00, 15:00 and 18:00
  • Friday: 1:00, 11:00, 19:00 and 21:00
  • Saturday: 17:00 and 19:00
  • Sunday: 1:00, 2:00, 13:00 and 22:00

If your audience is in another country

Habits change. For example, for Mexico, a peak time is Thursday at 22:00, while in Colombia it is Saturday at 22:00. For the United States (EST time zone), posting on Wednesdays at 23:00 can be very effective.

The logic behind the perfect schedule

These times are not random. They coincide with the moments when people look to be entertained and disconnect:

  • Early morning (6:00 – 9:00): People check their phones when they wake up. Your content should be short and easy to consume.
  • Midday (13:00 – 15:00): It is the work or study break. Light content, humor, or short tutorials work well.
  • Late afternoon-evening (19:00 – 22:00): This is the time of greatest activity. People have already finished their obligations, are relaxed, and spend more time on the app. It is the ideal slot for almost any type of content, especially content that invites interaction.
  • Night (22:00 – 00:00): The audience is calmer, scrolling before bed. Relaxed, reflective, or entertaining content that does not require much effort works well.

How to find your exact time (and the only one that really matters)

Copying generic schedules helps you get started, but what really makes a video go viral is connecting with your audience at the moment when they are active. For that, you have to do your research.

  1. Switch your account to “Professional”. It is free and gives you access to TikTok Analytics, the most important tool.
  2. Go to the “Followers” tab. There you will find the “Follower activity” graph. It shows you, hour by hour, on which days and at which moments your specific audience is using TikTok.
  3. Post during those activity peaks. The algorithm rewards early interaction (likes, comments, full watches). If you post when your community is online, you get that quick reaction that tells TikTok: “this is interesting, show it to more people.”
  4. Experiment and adjust. Try posting the same type of content in different time slots and compare the results in “Analytics.” The time that generates the highest initial retention (so people do not skip at 3 seconds) and the most complete views is your winning time.

The best posting schedule is not a theory. It is the one you deduce from observing the habits of the people who already follow you.
